Im putting a new gaming system together. It's been a few years since my last one, done a bit of research but not really up to date with latest specs etc. Please take a look and flag up any potential problems or compatibility issues.

1. ASUS STRIX X99 GAMING INTEL X99 (SOCKET 2011) DDR4 ATX MOTHERBOARD £279

SKylake socket 1151 and X99 socket 2011-3 wont work.

You need to add cooling also as no cooler is supplied.

You do not need 64GB for playing games (and not all Window operating systems support that much ram), 16GB is plenty for a X99 gaming setup.

You dont need a 1080 for 1440P at the end of the day.

The GTX 1080 will last that bit longer at 1440p.
