Hi i built a new rig yesterday:

SPEC:
i7-3770k
16gb 1600Mhz ddr3 geIL black dragon x2 8gb sticks
2tb hd
Asus P8Z77-V LX2 Intel Z77 mobo
OCZ ZT 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply
Cooler Master Hyper 612S CPU Cooler.

Everything was fine once it was put together. i installed all the updates (windows 8 pro 64bit)
installed all the chipset drivers off the disc that came with the mobo!
Update the graphics and then did a stress test with primes95 and all was fine.
all the temps was fine between 20-23 degrees idle and 60 at load!
But then i started to install bf3 and it stopped half way through the install and i got this msg: your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart!

Then it rebooted!

I thought it might be a driver problem in windows 8 ( which i thought was strange as it's runnig fine on 2 other systems in my house)
so i re-installed windows 7 ultimate 64bit and instlled the chipset drivers again!
I started to install the updates and i got the BSOD again!

(also i tried to transfer a program that i had on an external hd that is rar'ed up, But every time i try to unrar it i get an error msg saying that the file structure is corrupt! But yet it's fine on other systems in my house)

I tried a doing the chkdsk and all came up fine, done memtest all came up fine
and now i'm just stuck and at a total loss and have no idea what the problem is! i do have the crash reports:

The routine hdd and ram tests
Take out one stick of ram and test
Change the ram module and test
Error persists on either ram module then the HDD might be the culprit
Or the sata cable :) if you have a spare one plug that in

i read something about driver issues (being outdated) :/ what that cause bsod too :/

Driver problems are rare with new windows install
The fact that when you try to get files from an archive and it fails tells me that the HDD might have bad sectors
Or the SATA cable is at fault
Ram will just blue screen instantly not tell you that ups not working
A empty installation of Windows 7 will never blue screen from drivers
And never use the drivers provided with the motherboard

I thought about the bad sectors myself (but with it being a new hard drive with a fresh install i thought it was strange) "but it passed chkdsk without erros". I never really thought about the cables i just assumed they would be ok with them being new too :/
i have just run driver genius and updated all the outdated drivers and i have just installed all the sims 3 for the missus! (gonna test them in a min) then i'm gonna give bf3 another go.. the system hasn't bsod since i did the windows updates but still i'm waiting for it!

hmmm nothing seems to have happened so far! Thinking about it... i did take the side panel off which had a fan attached to it! I wonder if with the 3 140mm areo cool fans i have on and the 120mm standard fan and the heatsink with 2 120mm fans on might of been over powering my psu! I know the g-card i have needs 500w to power it and this is only a 550w 1 areo cool fan is 12v hmmm! hope it is summet stupid like that xD
