New tablet user - much thickness help plz.

Hi chaps, I have a @taB tablet running android 4.1 and jelly bean?
It is a nice system and runs nice and fast dual 1.6 arm cpu?
I would like to multi task with this, surf whilst winamp is playing but I seem too thick our just ham fisted with my sausage fingers.
If I start winamp how do I get back to desktop to start the browser without turning winamp off, do I use the back button once or the home button.
It might seem stupid guys but I am so stuck on pc's I am struggling.

In theory, the home button.

On most devices there is also the app switcher soft button, does your tablet have this (my HTC One X does for example).

I do not have the app switch button.
So i guess if i run winamp then press the home button that should take me back to the desktop and then run the browser.
Will try it when i get home.
