Hi

I'm looking for a screen to hook up with my laptop for now and later to connect to my new pc

mainly i will use it for PS3 , TV , few pc games
and casual photoshop work ( few times a month i guess )

so i stranded on a dell 2408WFP A01

now i read that there is a huge problem with inputlag and i'm seriously doubting to buy that monitor now for my uses ...

any1 maybe has a tip for another great monitor for arround the price of the dell ?
i found it for 490euro's online

greets

I'm in literally exactly the same position, need the same type of screen for the same thing! I was originally going to go for the Dell 2709W, but heard the same thing as you about input lag. The Hazro is apparently better, but based on what I've read in the big Hazro thread there are a lot of issues with it and the customer service sucks, so I've decided to cut down to 24".

I'm looking at the NEC 24WMGX, the BenQ fp241w, and the HP LP2475W. Not sure which to go for though!

Having read the various reviews I would go for the NEC 24WMGX, this monitor has a low input lag and minimal ghosting. The screen is 8bit MVA so colour quality is very good too. Overall it's the best 24" on the market for multimedia at the moment.

Pretty much what I was thinking to be honest - it may not be quite up there with the Dell/BenQ in terms of colour reproduction, but from what I've heard it's the best around for gaming.

I've been looks for a new 24" for the same tasks.

It seems the old BenQ fp241w is still the best one, but good luck finding one that doesn't have an infalted price, as it's now discontinued. :/

the BenQ fp241w looks rather nice also , with also minimum inputlag
also the pivot mode can be handy with photoeditting i think ?
never tought of using it tough, so i dunno yet if it's handy or not :p

i think its only needed for pro's and i am just a noob
*spam :p http://use.dommel.be/gallery *

The nec is than again handy with the remote for easy switching without coming in the menu , i also tought i read in the revieuw there is a sensor on the nec for the ambient light so the monitor turns down the brightness ??

in Panels the benq and Nec have the same S-MVA panel i guess with both 1:1 pixel mapping ( for PS3 )

so i think it's a guess between these 2

Any1 knows if OCUK sends out to belgium ?

I'd go for the HP, I've tested them all and prefer the crispier colours on it the best.

The NEC is a very well built panel, but quite a few of them have certain issues that may make you dislike it. Mine did. Plus the screen is too reflective.

Dead pixels are a problem with all tft panels it's not unique to the NEC, really depends how much importance you attach to 1 or 2 dead pixels in a big 24" screen. NEC are one of the better companies that allow you to return if you're not happy and they'll send out a replacement quickly, just ask them to do a pixel check before they despatch.

Do OCUK do pixel checks, or do you need to ask NEC when/if you RMA it? I'm probably ordering one tomorrow :D

manic111, I haven't bought the NEC yet but from what I hear it's when you RMA, phone NEC and ask them to check for dead pixels before sending a replacement out. Hopefully you won't need to, personally if I found 1 or maybe 2 dead pixels I wouldn't RMA as long as they're towards the corners :)
