New TFT or LCD

I wish to upgrade my 19" tft screen to 20 +, i am not sure if to replace with a 26" Sony LCD tv with HD , the Sony has the following , or would a tft give me better for display , i also want to connect a Xbox 360 or PS3 in the future

i thought that tft = lcd monitors ?

As far as i know TFT is LCD, but a new version of LCD from when it was first released.

For the size of that lcd monitor the resolution is not exactly the best, and you'd definitely have more fun with the dell 2405fpw, although only at 24" the resolution is a lot nicer for the size, yet I don't know the price of that lcd so there could be quite a leap in price.

i think he's meaning should he get an LCD TV or a TFT desktop screen. I think if you're looking for a multimedia screen for TV, games, movies then an LCD might be a good idea since you can get massive screen sizes for the same price as you#d pay for a desktop TFT of a much smaller size. Have a look through the Home Cinema and Hi-Fi forum here for LCD TV advice. If you want a screen for PC use then you can get a much higher resolution from a desktop TFT, something like the Dell 2405FPW would offer a good all round performance, suitable for PC use, aswell as having loads of connections for other devices like your XBox 360.
