ok guys so a couple of weeks ago i upgraded my motherboard, ram and cpu, since them nothing but trouble! random crashes whether i was using my computer for gaming / word processing / just idle on desktop.

i did install a fresh copy of windows from the beginning.

i have tried it with + without all the cards / with several graphics cards including an old 6600 / several different types and sizes of ram and all possible official drivers.

i have RMA'd the motherboard, tested as faulty (although im a bit unsure if they really did test it or not since its just a cheap board and....), new one sent to me, same problem.

i have found that the problem is excaccerbated when i install drivers for the graphics card and much much much much much less frequent without any graphics drivers

a prime95 test gave me these results:

no errors but one of the cores seems to lag behind the other by wuite a large amount of time as you can see by the asyncronous times each test began on different cores.

observations that i made as i stopped the test:

* the temperature of the cpu had dropped to 37 (pretty much idle temps) before i clciked anything

*the pc seemed sluggish and the task manager reported approximately 30% cpu usage on desktop.

here is the mb: http://uk.asus.com/products.aspx?l [...] 149&l3=813
my full rig:

Windows xp (32 bit)
2 x WD 250 GB HDD RAID 0
Asus M3N87 SE (bios 0602)
AMD Athlon x2 6400+
2 x 2 GB OCZ platinum (4-4-4-15) 2.2V RAM
Asus EN8800GT
Creative Audigy Sound Blaster
Hauppauge PVR-1300 (tv tuner card)
Hiper TypeR mk2 880W

im really having trouble locking this problem down please help!

woops, sorry ive fixed it now.

yes i have tried using memtest86+ for 6 hours, no fault found. also used a few other sticks, all individually. same problem.

realtemp is just another program, but its got a test to test the sensors of your CPU to make sure CPU is working correct, try it, read the help it'll tell you, also your temps on each core shouldnt be more than 2C different, if they are that could indicate a problem

"processor detedcted is not supported" i think its intel only?

anyway core temp 0.99.4 reports USUALLY within that 2 degree band.
