I'm guessing the main difference will be the increased RAM usage in 64-bit mode? I don't think there's any difference in gameplay.

64bit version can utilize more than 4gb of RAM. Correct me if I'm wrong please. :)

dunno about that but all i will say is WOW when running in 64 bit mode you lose about 1-2 FPS but just go to a section of the game with mountains and look at the difference between 32 and 64 bit the 64 bit mountains look photo realistic almost

to check your ingame bit version and frames per second just press the wave key `¬ <<<< that one there and type in the box that appears

R_displayinfo 1

that will bring up what bit version and frames per second and the amount of memory being used.

As far as i found out crysis shouldd auto run the same bit version as your windows but mine wasn't and was running 32 bit on launch
so i just went to the file named bin64 and clicked the normal looking launch icon within that folder and it forces 64 bit launch of the game

Anything that makes crysis look better =WIN
and a 1-2 FPS loss is nothing too drastic really definately worth the hit just to see those mountains lol

Anyway probably old news to a lot of you sorry if it is if not it's worth checking to see which version your .exe launcher is launching

by hitting the wave key in game and typing in the box

R_displayinfo 1

you can see all the real time game info it's like a super version of fraps with a lot more info

im also sure 64bit can run more threads then 32bit architecture, but as said, x86 will only use 3.25gb, 64bit can go up to 16gb or so :D

look at the mountains the FPS and the difference in ram usage.
64 bit seems to highlight the mountains ridges, cracks, quality and sharpeness also foilage at distance does not look blurry

i tried to stand in a identical place but got shot at so had to tear them up and re locate again lol so they are just a few steps off

64bit can go up to 16gb or so :D

LOL

Try 17 billion GB and you'll be closer to the mark of what 64 is capable of handling.

16GB is an artificial limit MS impose on W7 HP, with a limit of 192GB in Pro upwards. This is to create an artificial need to upgrade in the future, as there won't be a technical need to use beyond 64bit addressing for RAM for a looooooooong time. MS know a lot of people made the jump to 7 to access 64 bit too, so they want people to face a similar situation sooner rather than later.

and in 32-bit, any one .exe can only address a maximum of 2GiB of ram, not 3.2GiB.

on 64-bit this limit is much higher :D

Who cares about theoretically. Practically is where its at as thats what we will be using. :D

Well to save me repeating what Kenai said, read below :D :
