hi all i have just installed my brand new 4870 tonight with the CCC and the display driver which is 8.8,its my first time with a ATI card so the whole interface is new to me,how do i just uninstall the display driver and keep the CCC installed as i want to give the 8.7 a try?

Just go into Add/Remove, you'll find the ATi display driver and the CCC in there seperated, so you can just uninstall the one you want to.
