Hi and welcome.

Are you able to build a PC yourself?

As there are a few things I personally would change and you also get more bang per buck if you build yourself.

What is the maximum budget? is it just a tower? or do you need a copy of Windows, keyboard, mouse etc?

What is this PC to be used for?

im pretty confident i can build myself, there is always videos etc about how to lol.

id say about 1400 would be as high as i can go also can space out buying the parts over a period of time to put that up.

i got a monitor (47inch hd tv) and i got a coolmaster centurion 532 case which current holds, a intel core 2 duo E4700 2.8ghz, a geforce gt 220, 2gb DDr3 ram and a 500gb hdd running windows 8.1.

looking at wireless keyboard and mouse if possible

Well the Centurion 532 is an old case by todays standards and lacks modern niceties such as cable management and removable drive cages etc etc.

So lets get you a nice new case.

lol yeah antec case its going to be, would the 750w power be enough for adding 4 extra fans and an extra HDD at some point?

750 W is a huge power supply just in case you get a second GPU down the road. You only need about 150 W for that 970. I'd swap that 750 W unit out for a 450 W one personally and save some money.

Also you most likely don't need an i7 (unless you frequently do work that can exploit 8 cores, like code compilation) so I'd save £80+ by dropping down to an i5. Will you be overclocking? If yes you want the K version, but if not you can save £30+ more by getting a locked CPU. Something like an i5-4590 for £156 is a pretty sweet spot.

Also don't overspend on RAM. 16 GB is overkill for gaming, and might be for your work too.

been having a look at the antec p280 and was just wanting to ask about fitting the corsair h105, does it get fitted to top fan ports? and if so is radiator to case or is case, fan, radiator the radiator fan?

Yes it goes in the top.

Rad to case, fans underneath rad blowing up and out.

Have you bought anything yet?
