Posting from my phone so I hope it all comes out ok!

Never been cycling before (properly) but I'm moving soon and it'll be a lot more economical to ride to work. Personally can't wait to reap the benefits really! I've bought some mudflaps* and lights too already from Aldi as my friend recommended - the lights are fine but I'm going to see about the mudflaps, if no compatible I'll buy SKS Bluemels Road Mudguard Hybrids http://www.wiggle.co.uk/sks-bluemels-road-mudguard-set/ for £22.82.

All advice is appreciated!
P.s. God damn autocorrect!

Bike: Kona Dew 2014 (56cm Matt Black) £259.35 - [/URL]

(I hope this works)

When posting images it is best to save the image (copyright allowing) then upload it onto a hosting site like imgur. You can then safely post it here avoiding the hotlinking rule and also use a size that falls within the forum rules. If the image is wider than 1280 pixels then just post the image link or use the spoiler tags/function to hide the image. - DirtyJester

You could do a lot worse. I started out on something similar, as i'm sure did a lot of others. That type of cassette setup is commonly known as a "granny gear", but it can help to get up hills while you're working up the strength :D

Bike looks good. I hope you've bought some brightly coloured clothing, e.g. fluorescent jacket?

What's the ride to work like?

Rgds

That's the last thing I'm buying as I don't move out until some time around mid-November and I've had my car insurance and rent come out today - as you can imagine.. altogether that equates to a dirty sum haha :p plus my helmet doesn't get delivered till early Nov (due to the way the website I bought it from works)

The ride to work will actually be mostly on path, probably a 10 minute ride, but traffic is awful in the area so know I'll be saving a lot on fuel. The hills aren't steep at all but I think that's just on the most direct route; once I build up some stamina and strength (I'm an ecto/mesomorphic body type - light/skinny but athletic).
It's approximately from BAWA Club in Southmead, Bristol - to MOD Abbey Wood [] Hope the link works! :x

Also, I was also going to buy a bag/rucsac rain cover, anybody know if the ones in say JJB will suffice? I have a standard sized backpack, like schoolbag size.

Thanks
