HI,

So I have just set up F@H using the excellent guide here. I have one question however.

If I want to have several machines run the client under my username do I need to differ anything in the Set up? e.g. increment the machine ID for each new machine I add the client to using my username

Thanks for any advice on this. I have a bank of 6 machines that run 24/7 and I would like to add the client to them for my username.

No, you only need to increment the Machine ID if you are running multiple clients on the same PC.

For example, I have four Linux SMP clients installed on my Q6600 systems and each client has a separate machine Id. So PC 1 has Machine Id's 1,2,3,and 4 for each client, PC 2 also has Machine Id's 1,2,3, and 4 for each client installed on this PC.

Hope that helps.

That makes sense. Thanks for the help. I will set the other machines I have up tomorrow.

I don'tsuppose you know if there is a batch file created that I can change the vaules in to automate the install process?

Are these machines dedicated to folding? If they are, and will do nothing else, then use a diskless system. Can be run from USB or CD/DVD. Doesnt need mouse/kb/monitor/vidcard etc. Its simple enough to 'install' just put the fahconsole exe into a directory and run it. Answer the questions and its done. Takes about a minute.

Welcome to the team Lamo

Thanks, glad to be helping out in some way

No they won't be dedicated to folding. They carry out other tasks during the day although not heavily used. I set the console version up on my home machine and I guess it really only took about 1 minute I'm just being lazy.

This sounds like something I could use. Do you have a guide I could use to set this up?
