New to Firefox and have some questions

Ok I thought I had best try this out after reading loads about it but I have some niggly bits that I think should be easy to resolve(I hope)

I did try the IE7 Beta when it was first launched and quite liked the option of being able to close a tab just by clicking the cross at the end of the tab.Is there an extension or a setting to allow me to this in FF?

Secondly I would like to have my bookmarks in the bar at the top like you do in IE(I know I shouldnt but I am old and stuck in my ways)

If I can sort those two problems out I will probably ditch IE as I do like the other bits of FF

Intrigued by what Tolien has said about 2.x have you got the option to add that function to 1.5?As that is the version I am using.

It all seems highly customisable is there any must have add ons?

All I have done so far is change the GUI colours from default.
