Started folding today, not really sure why, but it helps science so whatever. Anyway I wondering what is the best way (if any) to speed up folding so it doesn't take a whole day to do 1 WU. Using the "default" program for folding. Temps during this are 22°C. My spec is:

AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE 3.1ghz
Coolermaster Hyper TX3
4GB DDR3 1600mhz
ATi Radeon HD 5770 1GB
Msi 770-G45
500w PSU (branded, not random
500gb hdd
dvd drive
etc.
Thanks to all.

Ah okay thanks. Wasn't sure if mine was the SMP. I'll download that when this WU is done (192/250)
Is the client for GPU worth it or not?
Thanks!

Thanks for the input guys. I'll finish my current WU soon, and then move on to the SMP client. A few questions:
1. In order to get it to run dual core, at the end of advanced configuration, do I just add the -smp tag?
2. Provided that I set up a passcode for mu username, will my Wu from one account count on another?
Thanks.

okay, I think that I've setup the SMP client, as it says the additional tags are -smp 2. With the console client, how can I tell it to pause? Does it do this automatically if I close it, or is it not possible to start and stop when doing it in the console?
Thanks for the help guys :)
EDIT: How can I be sure that it's using both cores?

hmm, according to task manager it's using near to 50%, indicating 1 core... Ahh well I'll try and get it to change next time. Not sure what more I can do though.
