Hi guys am new to Folding but have always been interested in doing such a thing iv downloaded FAH GPU Tracker V2 im just using my CPU as my GPU doesn't seem to like it and just goes crazy, Inputted my username and my team as 10. Is that all i need to do? Currently running project how long do they take approx per project and on a cpu what should i expect for PPD? i know its low but i want to see some results for the power usage and know im helping something.

I think with the latest version out there not being supported by Tracker, if you are folding under windows best let it finish the work unit it is on, then stop and uninstall GPU Tracker and download the v7 client from Stanford and install that instead.

The basics you need are: Your username, Team # 10, and a passkey which unlocks the door to more points (once you have done 10 regular units and maintain a 80% success rate)

As to how long, and what PPD, that totally depends on what CPU you have, what GPU you have, and what project is running, plus if you have done the passkey-10 units thing.

Also it takes a while for your PPD averages to stabilise, so give it a bit of time.

Well im not GPU Folding as i can't. Iv only got a 9500GT in this system and for some reason it won't allow it or work properly so ill have to look into another card. Ill uninstall GPU tracker and get the other once its finished this unit then. Thankyou

Thats what I mean, the v7 client will probably work with the 9500GT as well, not huge output but reasonable for the card it is :)

Next step up would be a cheap second hand 460 gtx i reckon.

Will a 6850/6870 or something like a 560Ti work well? I might treat myself to a new card and i can use this as yet another reason to justify it

Nah just picked up at 560Ti Phantom edition (1gb) for 75 :) Happy with that! Im hoping the results on here are going to be much better. Will arrive tmoz/monday so should have some idea of what im going to get out of it in a week
