Just been given a new iPad 3

What's the best way to stream from my windows 7 PC to my pad? Free ideally

Also, any good free file managers that include LAN/Network locations?

You could use PS3 Media server (ignore the PS3 bit, its a great bit of software) to stream stuff. http://www.ps3mediaserver.org/

And AirAV to receive on your iDevice: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/airav/id480962404?mt=8

Ok cool. Have downloaded PS3 and installed AirAV but seems quite laggy. Frame drops and lip sync. Is there a way to tidy up the streaming settings?

Under the transcode settings on PS3 media server you can change the quality if you are streaming over wifi, there is a drop down menu. I think I have AirPlayit installed as well which works well.

PS3 Media Server and Airplayer work perfectly for me.

If you are having lag, check CPU, HDD and network usage on the streaming PC, to ensure nothing is maxed.

I have my PS3 media server set to "Medium quality for HD Wifi transcoding"

I don't understand why everyone uses Air Video :confused:

Stream to me does the same thing and then some. Air Video can only stream video, where as Stream to me can also stream music or pictures.
