New to iPhone, maybe an easy problem...

Howdy

I just added a load of music (mp3) to my iPhone but I'm struggling with something, I literally dragged and dropped my music into the phone part in iTunes while my phone was connected, it worked fine but I have an album for each song in my iPod section,
I would assume there should be one album with the songs from the album in it, but it as I say has created an album for each song.

I assume it is a noob error on my part but I cant see where or how to create albums so I'm stuck lol

How can i transfer to the Phone while keeping all the songs in the album they belong to?

Any help appreciated

Could you post a screenshot of your library by any chance? Sounds like the library you dragged from may not be organised correctly?

I can but what library pic would you need mate?
It changes when ya go sideways doesn't it? Lol

Just on the computer, the main library. I'm not 100% but the iPhone should use the same layout for the music as the machine.

Instead of dragging music from your iTunes library to your iPhone in the list on the left of iTunes, try single clicking on the iPhone in the sidebar and using the tabs at the top to set up what you want to sync and then press the sync button.

It might work more smoothly that way as you can set up rules and select precisely what you want copied over on to your phone.

Can take a bit of setting up but once done it's brilliant!

This can happen randomly with some songs. Just go into iTunes, put in dummy info for the album and then re-enter the correct details.

Sounds like your album(s) don't have proper meta info for iTunes to group them properly. You may need to manually highlight each song right click and "get info" then give them all the same album title or try some software that can auto organise your library.

Ive tried dragging some albums into the music menu at the top of iTunes and some albums stay as one album with the correct songs, and those albums are fine on the phone, but some albums aren't staying as an album, the songs are separating and creating 1 album for each song, I've tries everything to try and get the separate songs/albums into a single album but that's the bit I can't figure out :/

I also tried the right click and get info, then manually adding album info but it doesn't seem to do anything

I've just sorted it for myself. What you need to do is enusre the 'Album Artist' field in the Get Info is the same.

The other song just had Ramones in there.
