Hi all,

I've always had a pc in my life untill 4 months ago my system went caput.

Now I'm left with nothing. And to be honest as you can imagine its killing me (of course not literally )

So i have £1200 to spend on a pc... I know for this price i can build myself a good system i will be very happy with.

But i keep being drawn to high end laptops. I like the portability of them even though there down for only lasting 3hours before dieing its not often I'm without a plug socket near me. Work and home takes care of that so i can live with that.

My main worry is. Because ill be doing some gaming battlefield 3 and battlefield 4 when its released im worryed i wont be able to play them.

I have no experience with laptop gpus or cpus. Its ok saying its a 4th gen i7 with a NVIDIA 765m. Do these actually cut the mustard when it comes to gaming ?
This is the laptop i had in mind any info on its capabilities would be very much appreciated.

I would save money by going with one SSD, and a regular 7,200rpm HDD

The 765 graphics card isn't good enough im afraid for the latest games. You'll soon start to struggle. Look at getting a 770, if you have £1,200 you'll easily find one for that money.
Intel 4700MQ is the sweet spot for laptop CPUs

Change the killer NIC to the advanced intel one. Killer drivers are a pain, and you'll actually get better real world performance from the intel.

I run a 780m and 4700 and it ran BF3 at 1080 with high settings constantly above 60 fps.

Battlefield 4 also ran smooth as butter too.

I'd honestly look at getting the 4800 for the CPU as the extra punch would be a benefit.

The 4800 isn't worth the extra money, I looked into it quite a bit

In most games there was zero difference. There was only one game which was heavily CPU dependant and the scores were

4700 - 40fps
4800 - 44fps

I'd use the difference in money to buy something better like larger SSD, graphics upgrade etc etc
