I am still using a cheapy 19" Iiyama CRT and I have never used a LCD or seen one used for gaming. The reason I wish to ditch my CRT is that I have recently purchased a 360 which I am using on a Sammy 32 LCD HDTV and have been very impressed with the image quality which appears to be more vibrant and have more depth than my not so good CRT.
So I am on the market for a LCD but am not sure which one, size or resolution to go for. I have listed how and what I will be using the display for.
I will only be using the LCD for gaming and nothing else.
At the moment I am playing 70% of my games at 1600x1200 and the remainder at 1280x960. Dropping resolution is not the end of the world as there is always AA and AF to make up for it.
I do not want to spend too much as I am supposed to be banned from buying any more gear so not sure whether to go for a 19" or a 20". I will not be upgrading my PC for at least another year so not having a higher resolution lcd may not be the end of the world as my PC would probably not be able to handle it anyway.
What are LCD's like at non native resolutions as by the time Crysis comes out I will have to drop the resolution lower than 1440 x 900 in order to enable the highest in-game graphics settings.
