Hey,

I am running Windows XP and I have Parallel's Workstation installed, with the hope of running Windows and running the linux OS within the PW interface.

I downloaded arch-0.7.2.iso from http://www.archlinux.org/download/

Do I need to download anything else? and also I do I go about getting it working?
I have isobuster so I can get to the files inside.

I think it will be neat to keep the linux in this way till I decide whether to take the plunge!

Cheers

Not used Parallels, but have used both VMWare and Microsoft's VirtualPC (cause they're free and I'm a cheapskate :D) and it's just like Firebar says, you either need to burn the Linux ISO to a CD or tell Parallels to use a virtual drive and point it at the .iso you downloaded.

One thing to realise, though, is that there will be a performance hit by running Linux inside Parallels (or any VM software). Even though it's using hypervisor to reduce the overhead, you'll still notice a lag.

Have you thought about dual-booting? If you like what you see in Parallels then a dual-boot would be a good move, imo :)
