So not really my thing, but my son loves it. He's only 4 so we only play creative mode.

I have it on Xbox and my laptop and we have started building things together. If I build a world on my own can I share it with his Xbox account so he can play it when he's with his mum?

Is there an endgame for survival mode? Can I finish the game?

I don't know of any way to transfer a world between console and PC. Though depending on which version of Minecraft do you have on your laptop you could play on a server together. To crossplatform you would need to have the windows 10 version (sometimes called the bedrock edition) as the java edition can't cross platform. If you don't want the hassle of a server, a realm works quite well though you do lose some of the finer controls of running a regular server.

The end game though depends on your point of view. The credits roll once you have killed the ender dragon though this isn't really the end of the game. After killing the dragon you will be put back in the overworld and can carry on playing. You will need to* have killed the dragon to be able to go out to to the end cities. You can respawn the dragon too if you want to fight her again. There is also the wither boss that you can kill along the way if you want to.

*technically you don't but realistically you do.
