Hello all,

I'm thinking about getting an NVME 1TB drive its going to be used as a games folder, I have a 1TB SSD that I use for games but thats full. My Mobo is a B450 board so it does support NVME.

Ive never used or setup a NVME drive is it a simple process just pretty much plug and play then format to get it ready to use then off you go? or do I need to play about in the Bios / download software?

Cheers Guys.

You can also use the manufacturer’s software or see if there’s a firmware update. Before/after formatting doesn’t matter.

And if you put it in and for some reason it tries to boot from the empty drive first, don't panic and do something silly with your boot drive :D

WD Black SN750 can be had for around the same price as the Blue if you keep an eye out and are willing to wait. Got mine for £128 last November.
Very simple install, it's just plug and play.
Be aware NVMe drives can quite easily thermal throttle. Most motherboards come with a heat sink for them though. But aftermarket ones are cheap too.
