New to OC - Card question!

HI,

I was just wondering if there is a way to get 3 screens on the Nvidia gtx 550 ti?? I am currently learning new things when it comes to custom built computers and currently learning.

If this is not possible what card would your recommend or would i need to purchase another 1, which i know with the motherboard i have doesnt support SLI

Are you after a single large desktop spread across three screens? (like eyefinity).

If you are, then you need a pair of Nvidia cards in SLI (there are one or two exceptions from KFa2?Galaxy who make some custom designs)

Well you need a pair of Nvidia cards in SLI to do this (except for some weird designs from KFA2/Galaxy)

As you said your board doesn't support SLI, so a single GFX card from ATI is the way to go.

Right thanks for this, what would you recommend if any.
Would getting an Ati Graphics card be more cost-effective than mobby and another Nvidia

With ATI you can use a single card to power three screens, usually two by DVI and another using the displayport output on the card, this requires a monitor with a displayport input (expensive!!)

Luckily you can get a Displayport-DVI "active" adapter that allows you to use three monitors with DVI inputs.
