New to OC

So I recently thought it'd be a good idea to over clock my i5 2500k /w a50 cooler, however i have absolutely no experience with over clocking at all.

A couple of people have said to simply disable intel speedstep and change the multiplier to x42, I've done this and ran prime95 and got an error in worker #4.

My temps seem fine from what I've read but surely the worker failing means instability?

up the vcore a touch and run prime again

up the vcore a touch and run prime again

this, take vcore (core voltage) off auto and set it to manual, then raise it a couple of levels.
run prime (or i prefer Intel Burn Test, as it finds an unstable overclock usually within 20 mins)
also download cpu-z, to get all the info u need regarding vcore, fsb etc...
