Heya

I will be getting my new i5 3570K this week and putting together my new comp. I wanted to overclock my CPU to atleast 4.3 (4.3-4.5) but have no idea where to start and am terrified of breaking something lol.

Firstly I need a cooler, but I don't have a lot left in the budget :( Is there anything out there for around £30 that would allow me to overclock to about 4.3ghz safely? If not then I guess I'll just buy the retail version cpu and leave it at 3.4 on the stock fan for a while :( But I really wanted to get it going for gaming.

Any tips or suggestions on cooler? My board is the Asus P8Z77-V LX, a friend has the same board and said it was fairly easy to overclock with, but unfortunately he doesn't live close by and I feel like I'm going to blow something up :P

Thanks!

My friend has the same setup more or less. He s on 4ghz using the stock intel cooler. Sooo anything above 4.0, need to consider thirdy party cooler.
You should easily achieve 4.2 by simply adjusting cpu multiplier (x42.) Anything above that (4.3-4.5) may need a vcore tweak (1.2~1.24). Follow this up with some stress testing while keeping an eye on temperatures
to confirm that system is stable.

If you really want to save money for time being, perhaps even consider

Anything (Even below £20) is gonna be better than stock intel fan. I beleive that for your setup and OC target, spending more than £35 on a cooler is overkill.
