How random.

Does this mean it would be against the rules if some one where to post a mobile broadband spec me thread and link to a shop selling these?

I gotta say, this product gets a thumbs up from me.

Currently using mobile broadband from "3" using that very adapter and I am amazed by the performance. I'm getting ~2.5Meg and the internet is actually usable (heck its faster than the ADSL connection my parents get in Aberdeen).

I didn't plan on using it for long as it is a stop-gap during moving house - but now I think I will opt into a longer contract/PAYG so I can get similar connection quality anywhere I go.

Not sure about sim-only ones (this is what I will be doing - but I already have the adapter). If you do want the dongle then all I will say is - you may as well go for these OCUK ones (as you get free delivery).

One thing I would suggest - is you check that you can get HSPA in the area you plan to use it in (I believe most places in the UK have it these days).

Will it work in an ipad

If I perform surgery on the sim ofc. Wondering if I can then use the resulting microsim on an iPad.

Think there is a guide on the interweb about that fk, looks to be possible :)

PS... £29.99 for the 1gb inclusive seems a bit steep...can be had for £19.99....

This product is on This week only at £19.99

Wow, that is a good deal. I suppose for most of us it will cost £23.49 inc VAT - but it's still a great price.

I notice on the product page it says:
Get yourself started with a whole 12 months to use your top up

Is this the case? as the ones sold direct by 3 only allow you to use the data on the 1GB PAYG deal for one month. If it is correct then this is a very sweet deal - as you basically get a years worth of internet connectivity for very little.

If "Get yourself started with a whole 12 months to use your top up " is true then that is very good since all the ones I've seen are 30 expiry days too.

How would top up work after that though does the 12 month thing still apply?

I'm in if this is one of the ones where you buy your GBs and have unlimited time to use it :).

My Boss had a few Vodafone dongles, one of which was their old plan before they put in the stupid 1-month limit on using the data. Git wouldn't give it to me!

Would much prefer one of them to the stupid 1-month limit ones for my iPad and as a regular dongle :).

Just looked at a competitor that sells these same Three ones as OcUK.

"The dongle works straight out of the box; there's no need to top up before you start, and you can use the data allowance for up to 24 months."

I thought 12 months was good, but 24 is better.

If someone from OcUK would care to clarify about how long your data lasts (i.e. is it until you've used the data up, or is there a 1/12/24 month time limit it use it) I think there's a few of us here that are interested!
