I just finished my own built about a week ago been running stock only had one issue, that a regular user on here told me how to fix (Someone Else )helped me out with thanks dude.

I have An MSI z77 mpower with a i5 3570k (3,4ghz), 8gb Patriot 2133mhz (4x 4gb) and a corsair h100i.

I ran AIDA 64 for 3 hours at what i thought was stock 3.4ghz clock actually turned out to be 3.8ghz its part of the issue i hade that SE helped me out with had to manually set multipler and turn on xmp) and Max fans and didnt get above 56c degrees.

A few days later i turned on OC genie Which set my cpu to 4.2 ghz at 1.152v or atleast what cpuz and the other monitoring tools the forums told me id need were saying, Ran that on AIDA for an hour to allow cpu and cooler to get into their strides and temps Never got above 65c.

As the title suggests i want to over clock im hoping to get the best out of my cpu at maybe arond 4.4ghz or so with descent voltages and good temps is this possible ? and can sometell me what are safe temps for this chips thank you all in advance and any guides or tips and trick would be greatly appreciated :p

I can tell you that the safe temperatures on the Ivybridge chips are upto 105 degrees which is the threshold... that is truely ridiculous and you would probably melt the TIM on the cpu lid, I'd say to ideally keep under 70 on absolute full load... realistically you won't be pushing much past 60 degrees then.

Not sure about the 3570k exactly but you should be able to get 4.4Ghz without pushing the core voltage up too far. Ivybridge's scale quite well with voltage until you get to the 4.6 - 4.9 Ghz where the voltage may need to be altered a little more significantly.

Intel Extreme Overclocking Utility, this is what I use to test my overclocks before altering the BIOS and burning in.
