corsair h100i cooler
psu corsair cx750
I needing help were to start I have looked at youtub videos but I don't want to fry anying were do I start I am thinking of going for water cooling hard line for the look also getting a better cooling is this good idea ? or worth spending ells were I am just hoeping I get get the help I need here thx

Install HWmonitor so you can see all the values in windows, temperatures voltages etc.
Firstly monitor this to ensure everything's as it should be during normal use, you need to establish if there are any issues before you start. You mainly want to be looking at core temperatures on the CPU and gpu.

Then download cinebench and Asus realbench.. Run these a few times to make sure there are still no problems, and make a note of what scores you get..and again have HWmonitor running at the same time and make a note of the maximum cpu and gpu temperatures. Then you'll have some good baseline statistics that you can refer back to.

If all is good, then enable XMP in your bios so that your ram is running at the full speed of 3000mhz.

Do all the above tests again, noting down maximum cpu and GPU temperatures in HW monitor and the new scores in cinebech and realbench. The scores should be a bit higher as the ram is running at full speed.

There's a few hours worth of work there so do that first to make sure everything is stable before you look to overclock the CPU, and you have some notes to refer back to once you start overclocking the CPU for comparison.

Mattyfez's advice is good. Record data on temperatures and Benchmark results - a quick screenshot is useful. I usually lay out my temperature monitoring data and clock/voltage data on the same screen as my benchmarks, then save a screenshot.

Starting with the RAM is sensible as it's relatively safe (XMP profiles are pre-set so should never cause damage) and will get you started using the various settings menus :)

Quick question: do you have an i5-8600, or an i5-8600k?

k series CPUs are unlocked for overclocking but non-k CPUs are locked. You may be able to enable all-core turbo but you won't be raising the clock speed itself.

thx for getting back to me I am down loading all what u have advise me too yea its 8600k I have spent a little money on my pc and don't want to fry it I will take it slow and keep u uptodate thx u
