new to overclocking and need a bit of advice

i just built my first ever pc and as my motherboard (asrock fatal1ty z68) has buit in auto clocking i thought ide give it a go it all seems to be working fine so far its clocked my 2600k to 4.6ghz atm at 1.29 vcore.

but when i decided to run prime to test how stable it is i always get one or two threads that error out and stop. is this the overclock being unstable or is it something else :confused:

Got any idea why cpu-z says my core speed is3.8ghz when the multiplyer is set to 48?

I was running prime 95 at the time so it was loaded but it shows 3.8ghz in cpuz.

Ill have to double check cpuz version but from wat i can tell multi is at 48
