New to overclocking need some help.

Ok i have tried and tried on my own, but all i get is instability, here is my hardware:

MB: Asus P5N-E SLi NF650i S775
CPU: Intel E6400 Core2Duo 2.13GHz
RAM: Corsair DDR2 TWINX 2GB PC6400

Is it a lost cause with that setup or am i merely being a fool when configuring?

Any help is appreciated as i have spent a full day yeilding nothing
