New to Overclocking

Read through the stickys as i never have overclocked before.

The only thing i may swap is the ram to maybe 4 gig,
before i put my order in do i need to order any fans or anything?

Im thinking of just air cooling at the moment, unless theres some cheep water cooling all in one packages out there.
 
dont go for an all in one watercooling system, just go for a decent air cooler, like the tuniq tower that was recommended (if it fits your case that is, it is a bit tall for some cases).
 
cheers dist and ben. daft question but how will i find out if it will fit my case before ordering everything? or should i get everything but the cooler and asses afterwards?

right thats all been ordered now,
just been looking on the tools and downloaded and used speedfan and OCCT on my current comp, just to have a play before im on my new one.
with out doing anything to it i got the following

and that screenie says you're using an AMD? chip with an ASUS mobo?

did you re-use a HDD?
 
sorry, no the first post is my new system that i have just ordered today, due to arrive tommorrow.
The screenshot is from my current old computer, that i have done no overclocking on as yet and was trying to understand whats going on so that i feel comfident OC my new one when it arrives.

that tells you that your multiplier is set to x11 and that your bus is at 166.7

this gives you a core speed of 1.8337GHZ

and you've got 1.696V running through it

i don't know exactly what you wanted to know... but that's what your processor there is running at
