hi all ive read the overclocking guide but i still feel a little lost.i have just built my new pc and its all running great. the main parts are an asus rampage motherboard/ e8600 cpu./and 4 giggs of geil 8500 evo 1/and a turniq tower cooler.cpuz says that the fsb dram is 5.6. should this be 1.1.all settings are on auto for now.temps are 27c at idol.can anyone give me any tips to get this set up to 4 ghz.i think i have the general idea but just feel a bit unsure about going ahead.many thanks in advance...

Hi, post over on the E8600 thread to keep it active. You can find it HERE. With those specs you should see 4Ghz easy.
Call over to the E8600 thread above, and post up the details. It would be handy if you could also post your batch (eg Q822A635) and the CPU's vid. If you don't know what that means, just take a screenshot of your desktop with CPU-Z and CoreTemp/RealTemp running
