Hi there so I brought a new CPU and motherboard and was thinking about overclocking the CPU a bit but not sure on how to go about it. I brought a gigabyte board which came with easy tune is this ok to use or is there other better software to do it which is easy to use.

Spec of what I have do you know
Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H Intel H55
Intel® Core™ i3-540 Processor
(4M Cache, 3.06 GHz)

And was thinking of aiming for 3.2 or3.4 what do you think. Also how much should that change the temp as is around 15c at idle and around 20c when playing lfs and CSS for an hour or so.

I have the same spec pc :). Go for it. The easy tune is great for beginers. Rember that overclocking voids your warrienty.

With that motherboard and your CPU - not sure what cooler you are using - a over-clock of around 3.6GHz is not unreasonable.

You can use the Easytune6 built in overclock utility and it will set the overclock for you. Really is that easy.

Select the CPU tab and you will see three options in bright colour. Select the one you want. Done deal.
