Hey guys,

I built my first computer about 3-4 years ago and now I feel like its time to overclock my processor for the first time. I never considered it before because in honesty, I was worried haha. So I came to this forums because its known for its best advise :)

Currently, my specifications are:

- Antec 300 case - (no front panel fans)

- MSI HD 6850 Cyclone Power Edition 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

- Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

- Corsair XMS3 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Quad Channel Kit

- Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366).

- ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155)

- XFX 750w PSU

- Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ / ST1000DM005)

Will these specifications be okay to begin with? I've been doing a lot of reading about overclocking and it seems to be the temperature which causes most problems. There are videos showing how to overclock hardware involving my processor and motherboard so I thought to follow the advise. I'd love to increase my processor to 4.2ghz at least :).

Any advise would be appreciated as I'm new to overclocking. Its took a while for me to even consider it haha

Kind Regards
Stefan
