New to overclocking

Guys

Ever since i bought my Acer XR34 my MSI lighting 290X has been found wanting in AAA games...

I plan on buying the mid range Polaris chip when it comes out to see my XR34 in all its glory

Until then id like to push a few more FPS outta my current card, is this possible?

Ive not overclocked any component myself in the 3 rigs ive built so i am new the OC game

My vital stats r is as follows:

Acer XR 34
Msi lighting 290x 4gb
i5-4690k Oc'ed to 4Ghz
8 gig of ram
Power supply 650W
Gigabyte Z97X SLI

Yes it's easy. Just download any gpu of software and play with the sliders you can't go wrong unlike CPU oc.

Have tried to OC a couple of times using MSI Afterburner but my games are not running and i sometimes end up with a black screen and have to hard reset...

I am only trying minimal OC'ing but i keep encountering this problem

Do i need a PSU with more grunt?
