Hi, just built my 1st gaming PC, having researched and downloaded a few bits of software I'm struggling to overclock in any meaningful way:
User Benchmarks: Game 82%, Desk 97%, Work 74%
CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K - 94.4%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 980-Ti - 82.6%
SSD: Pc401 NVMe SK hynix 512GB - 197.7%
HDD: Seagate ST1000LM049-2GH172 1TB - 86.1%
RAM: Hynix.lnc HMA81GU6CJR8N-VK 2x8GB - 81.5%
MBD: Asus PRIME Z390-A
Using Afterburner for the GPU and Intel XTU for the CPU. I've tried using the Asus overclock on the bios but it seems to crash my PC every time.
I've overclocked the GPU by 85 equally on Core & Memory and increased the voltage by 1. Using Heaven and Kombustor for this. This seems to not run any better and in some cases a lower benchmark test on the GPU. No issues with cooling, temp doesn't go above 50c
XTU s now at 4.30 for Core and 4.9 for Cache.
Now I have no real idea what any of this actually means in depth but it all seems about what people overclock at and it seems to make no huge difference to the performance. Running a Quest 2 mainly, which doesn't run amazingly well on the system, it's ok but certainly isn't maxing anything out. Obviously the GPU is slightly older buy, hard times for GPU buying so I'm stuck with it for now.
Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated.
