Hey guys. I'm looking to get my first custom PC and was recommended to post on here for some help. I'm looking at a max budget of £1000.

Based on my needs i'm looking for i5k, 16gb RAM and a graphics card to run games in 1920x1080 smoothly.

I spent awhile putting together a spec and came up with this. I don't know if there's anything glaringly wrong, but if there's anything you guys would change, let me know - i need as much advice as i can get :D

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £956.82
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Here's an AMD-based option; it's only a personal opinion, but I reckon that in the long term more cores will be better rather than better apparent gaming performance right now. It's obviously your choice :)
The cooler that comes with the R1700 is pretty decent, no need to replace it.
Personally I also think that the RX480 is a better choice than the GTX1060.
You may be able to find Windows 10 for less.
EVGA vs XFX for PSU is a personal preference again, up to you.

Get a graphics card with better cooling. I'd only suggest a blower if your case doesn't have much cooling by itself.
