New to PC just got a pre built need some feedback.

Hello everyone first off I want to apologize if I seem clueless (because I actually am lol) but I just got a RTX 2060/Ryzen 7 3700x rig from walmart (Cyberpower branded ik pre builts) but I was wondering if the cpu temps were safe when I play a game like RDR2 the cpu temps go from 68-74 to about 80 but shoots right back down what's considered the breaking point on these cpus? thanks for any responses and again I apologize for my lack of knowledge.

I think they would have served you a bad quality cooler maybe? Internet says some people have the same issues like you with good coolers. Try and do a search about that.

Are the fans running? Have you set a fan curve? IF you do, do the temps decrease? 68-74 isn't your idle temp right?

Assuming we're referring to load temperatures, 68-74 average on the stock cooler isn't outrageous. Is PBO enabled?

These are temps under load (Mostly in RDR2, I tested a few other games like Battlefront 2, TF2 etc) and they stay within the 60s, and @Tetras yes PBO is enabled just found this out this morning, sorry for the late responses Christmas was chaotic this year.

Fans are indeed running but I have not set a fan curve I just go into bios to do that right?
