Morning all

Im 35 and been into PCs for years.... but never cared much for Mice or Kayboard or headsets.
I dont want to spend a fortune, but what are the "go to" bits of kit?

Headset - Pretty decided to go get a PC38X. I have no sound card but I presume this is fine without one if I plug in directly via 3.5mm to my B550 Tomahawk.
Mouse - Pretty sure I want wireless and a mouse pad. Ive been reading on here and reviews and I prob want a Logitec with a Hero sensor but thats about it? No need for any RGB stuff
Keyboard - Not a clue but I like back light keys where light is coming through the digit/letter only. I presume as I dont need wirless get a wired?

Any advice?
Thanks

I've not noticed any gotos, but RGB has skewed what's favourable, as has something like mechanical keyboards.

If the PC is close, wired/wireless doesn't matter, and i moved to a wired mouse because of battery annoyance. I can't say i've had an issue with cables, but i do notice i have one.

Large mouse pads that cover the whole desk are quality of life improvement, and popular. This might be a goto? OCuk had their biggest one on sale for £15, so worth taking a look.

Having even an average surround to stereo DAC is leagues ahead of your motherboard audio imo.

The Logitech mice are nice, simple enough software that's not intrusive.

I can't comment on keyboards as always used a budget one.

I mean ultimately it comes down to budget and preference.

What sort of budget are we talking about here?

Are you fussed about colour matching to the rest of your set up or is it more function over style?

If you aren't looking at specific gaming mice/keyboards then I would suggest taking a look at the MX Master series of mice from Logitech (I think the original MX Master can be had for sub £50 online)

As for keyboards then this is purely down to personal preference and again comes down to how much you want to spend. So are you looking to spend sub £50 or go full blown custom in the hundred of pounds range?

Plus do you want mechanical or membrane? MSI have some backlit budget boards for sub £50 but how good these are I don't know. Just be warned if you look at a more custom board the price can get expensive really fast without you noticing it. (having fallen into this world recently)

Thank you

So I dont really have a budget, but I tend to be pretty tight and will only for for things that make a noticeable difference, saying that Id buy a £100k car which does the same as a £5k car.
Mouse I would like a wireless as reading reviews there are no downsides now and I do notice my cable so rather wireless.
Keyboard -Ive only ever used cheap stuff, I want full sized and each key being back light, no idea if I want "clicky or not"
Headset I think just after reading review a PC38X is the thing to get but no idea about a DAC?
I use PC for messing around, Strategy games and FPS, for that reason Id like a comfy mouse (needs to be taller sitting then my current cheap dell), but not so comfy I can FPS

I have no preference on colors of anything so that doesnt matter. Function over style every time
