New to photography, a few pics later: Inspired!

I've just come back from 1 month in Canada and the US. I took a few photos, as you do, with so many beautiful landscapes and scenery I was blown away and have now been inspired to take up photography. Up till now (including my holiday pics) I've never really taken many photos, but have always had an interest.

I put some online yesterday, for the first time, please feel free to take a look and critique: My 'work'.

But go easy! I especially had fun on the beach though

Also, I currently have a very basic Acer camera (Acer Corporation CI6330) which I bought for <£100! Without going crazy (say <£250) are there any suggestions on what I could buy next?

Any help or comments greatly appreciated

I loved Lake Louise, it and Botanical Beach blew me away with their beauty. Truely stunning places.

I suppose, for now at least, I'd be looking for something discreet. A bigger and better camera would be good, but I'm not too sure if I'm ready for lenses etc. yet!
