I am looking to getting into photography and a camera that takes good raw images without using photoshop and nothing to complicated to use

My budget is around £300

I have been looking at

Sony Alpha A5000 20.1MP Digital Camera - Black (Kit w/ 16-50mm Lens)
Nikon D3300 Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm VR II Lens Kit

if your images are raw you will need software to get them looking good and convert to being easy to view, photoshop elements or lightroom could do this for you. if you dont want to do any processing then you need to save as jpegs really and allow the camera to process them for you.

As the other poster says, you haven't really understood what RAW mode is about. Typically when you take a JPEG image with a camera, the camera will make all sort of tweaks for you, increase contrast, sharpen the image etc.

When you use raw mode none of this happens, you're left to do it for yourself. Although they contain more information by default raw images are usually flat looking and need work done to them.

I started with the A5000 around a year ago and have since upgraded to the A6000. Both are brilliant but I'm so used to the A6000 now that I find it had going back to less buttons on the A5000 and no view finder.

The A5000 is a little smaller though and always amazes me at how awesome it is for its size.
