New to PS3 - Game recommendations?

Just bought a PS3 and loving being able to lay on my bed and play good games in pure comfort lol.

However, I'm completely out of the loop as to what is actually a good game or not on the console!

So far I've bought the following:


Resistance: fall of man
Resistance 2
God of war 3 (superb game)
Quantum theory
AVP (waiting for delivery)
Red dead redemption (waiting for delivery)
Gran Turismo 5
Lost planet 2 (waiting for delivery)
Dante's inferno (waiting for delivery)
Resident Evil 5 gold (waiting for stock/delivery)

I've heard that the uncharted games are really good and also castlevania is worth a look. I really enjoy 3rd person action games, platformers and first person shooters.

Any recommendations?
 
Looks like you have enough there to get you started!

Uncharted and Uncharted 2 are must-haves, MGS4 is excellent too if you're a fan of the previous games.
 
TBH mate play some of those first lol, but Uncharted 1 and most definatly 2 are a required purchase for a PS3 owner. Also infamous and Killzone 2 are def worth a purchase and both are cheap, also both have sequels coming out in the next few months. Try some demos on PSN of retail titles and some of the PSN titles as their are some great games on PSN.
 
Currently downloading a demo of uncharted 1 on PSN so I can have a go on that. Really enjoying the fact I can get cheap second hand games on a console when due to being a pc gamer for around a decade, the second hand market on that platform is pretty much dead now due to steam etc :S

So uncharted 1/2, demons souls, infamous, killzone 2 and possibly MGS4 so far which I should have a look at!
 
MGS4,was one long yawnfest for me, too many looong drawn out cutscenes , and snake still runs as though he has cacked his pants, not a good image,

Uncharted/ MGS4 is like golden eye for 64 if you own PS3 you buy Uncharted/ MGS4 amazing game.

Try enslaved another great 3rd person action/ plaformer game also heavenly sword & Ratchet & clank series.

Yeah I too noticed that second hand on the PC is rare. But consoles will go the same way.

Mass Effect 2 has a code you need to enter to gain extra content, second hand buyers won't be getting that code if its been used.

Anyhow, Uncharted 1/2. Uncharted 2 is miles better IMO then uncharted 1.
 
Uncharted 1 is still worth it for a the story and even though 2 is better 1 is still great.

Little big planet 2 just came out the other day might be worth a look.
