I've decided to purchase a PS3. And I wanted some opinions on the games I've chosen and some advice.

I don't have a HDTV, but I do have my PC monitor. I've seen DVI connectors/converters and also audio cables that I'll need. I wanted to know who else does this and what they use?

The games I plan on picking up with the console are;

Metal Gear Solid 4
Uncharted 1 & 2
Killzone 2
Resistance 1 & 2
GT5

Am I really going to need a 320gig console? Or will the one a step down be a better choice? There's not much in it when comparing prices.

Lets get the most important question out of the way...

Which PC monitor? Make sure it supports HDCP over DVI otherwise youll have to shell out money for cables that strip that out and they arent that cheap IIRC. If it supports HDCP youll just need a HDMI to DVI cable which are cheap (<£10). I use optical out to my speaker amp for the sound myself...

Unless you use something like PlayTV/media youll find it hard to fill a 320Gb HDD but dont think the 160Gb versions are as competitively priced to make the difference worthwhile...

There are loads of recommend PS3 games thread...

Samsung SM2333SW 23" Widescreen LCD Monitor.

How would I go about finding out if it supports HDCP over DVI?

Nice - looks like your monitor will be fine. As ps3ud0 mentioned, an adapter like this or cable like this will do you well.

As for the sound, what speakers do you plan to use with the PS3 and what connections do they have?

Thanks for the info guys.

I've ordered a DVI cable and audio cable from a forest full of rain. As for speakers. I'm currently using Creative 2.1 speakers on my PC, but with a female to female connector I should be able to swap them out for the console.

Bought a 2x RCA Phono Female to 1x 3.5mm Male Jack Audio Cable and a 3.5mm Stereo Jack Female to Female Adapter so I can connect the speakers to the PS3 audio cable. I also have the adaptor which lets you connect the red and white audio cables to, I used it with my 360 to connect it to the monitor. So I assume it will work the same way with the PS3.
