Hey all,

Ive just bit the bullet today and bought some new pc kit from the MM.

I got a i5 2500k and a Asus P8H61-M B3.

For now the mobo will suit my needs as im not looking to clock the chip just yet ( im under the impression that these boards dont allow overclocking anyway ) however im concerned about memory.

I currently have spare some dual channel ddr3 corsair stuff that is rated at 1.65v but on the actual ocuk website it recommends 1.5v memory.

Will I be ok with the ram i have now or do I need to go out and buy some more.

Im hoping for now that it will be ok but please tell me if im wrong.

you made the wrong choice of mobo you can't clock the 2500K on the h61/h67 mobos, only the p67 or z68 :(.

I think the OP realises they can't do any overclocking:

( im under the impression that these boards dont allow overclocking anyway )

Having said that they may be able to bump the turbo boost by 4 notches giving them 3.8GHz with all 4 cores stressed.

They'll have to look at the options for their particular motherboard.
