Hi chaps,

I've been an AMD man for aslong as I can remember (FX55 current CPU), but I've taken the plunge and have ordered a new Intel 6700 Duo 2 processor, which I should have next week.

In the mean time, I've got my new 775 socket mobo, but I'm slightly worried about the heat sink assembly on top of the 775 cage bracket thingy.

I've fitted my Cooler's bracket (in prep for the CPU arriving ), its a ThermalTake Big Typhoon, and whilst I was doing this noticed then when the CPU metal clasp/cage is closed, it will be above the top of the CPU heatspreader, so in theory the bottom of the Cooler will be touching the closed cage not the CPU.. is this right or am i being completly dumb and stuck too much in my AMD world!!!

any comments appreciatred

Answered my own question.. Just seen a picture of the CPU and can see it has not a totally flat covered Heatspreader and can clearly see how the top of the CPU will sit in the socket..

Please ignore my question.. <set newto775=on>
