New to Spotify - quick question re. offline music (phone)

Having endured the travesty of Youtube Music for a couple of months, myself and my girlfriend signed up for Spotify Premium Duo and are trying to get to grips with it.

Quick question, if I offline/download a playlist to my phone, and then add music to it via the desktop app.. will my phone download the new music added to said playlist? Seems like a nice way or doing it (but you never could on GPM or YTM).

I quite often listen to new stuff on the desktop (especially now as I'm WFH) and think "I'll download that to my phone". It'd be nice to be able to add it to the playlist there and have my phone 'sync' it and download. Will it work? And will the albums appear as 'normal' when using Spotify in 'offline' mode on my phone - or will they only appear in the playlist?

Yes Though you’ll need to open Spotify on your phone (on WiFi IIRC) it’ll then update the playlist changes you’ve made and download anything new.

And will the albums appear as 'normal' when using Spotify in 'offline' mode on my phone - or will they only appear in the playlist?

Not sure. I’ve only ever used playlists in offline mode.

Thanks. I did a little test and it seemed to work as intended. Much easier to organise offline content on your phone this way!

Got excited when I saw Spotify offline play, I’ve got an Apple Watch and a Spotify account but no offline play on the watch as yet
