Hi, I've just switch over from AOL who I've been with for years to Talk Talk (I know they are both CPW), on their Plus package, using the latest half-price deal.
I've been using my trusty Netgear DG834G from AOL for years, they even sent me a D-Link 2640 which I reboxed as it would drop-out.
Now, Talk Talk have sent me a Huawei Echolife HG532, I did request a Netgear at time of ordering and if one didn't arrive I could exchange it. When the Huawei arrived I called them and they offered me a £40 credit if I sent the Huawei back and bought my own router.
So, is the Huawei any good and worth keeping or are there any other I should be looking for? I don't mind going a bit over the £40 budget. I liked the Netgears interface and its handy for blocking social networking sites by name, I could never quite get round OpenDNS with the D-Link. The Huawei has url and ip filtereing but Don't seem to filter when I enter the url or ip.
The main use is cable to PC, I also have a laptop and Wii (no Xbox or PS3) range not critical either.
Should I be looking for Wireless N and gigabit ethernet?
Or just keep using the Netgear?
Edit - Although not imperative, a USB port may be handy for printer or external hard drive.
Thanks
