New to Vista64

Hi all ..

I`ve just upgraded from XP to Vista64 ,

On the welcome centre window there`s a "windows experience index" mine says 5.5 is that good bad or what ??
whats the highest score u can get , hows it rated up to, is 1-10 10 being the highest ? if thats the case then my sys is avg ? for the vista experience .

which means there`s plenty of room for upgrades ;)

ohhh yeah whats this Aero windows i keep hearing about ? can`t seem to find it :(
 
the windows experience score is completely meaningless. don't worry about it. BTW, the highest is 5.9.

just to show how meaningless it is, i used to get 5.9 with my old agp x1950pro - now that's hardly going to offer the same performance in games as tri-sli gtx280s - which also score 5.9. also, i have a bog standard 500gb hard drive that scores 5.9 - but compared to a raid 0 SSD setup it's going to be much slower - but still scores the same. i could go on..... :p

as for aero, make sure you have the drivers for your graphics card installed. then right click your desktop, select personalise, then goto "windows color and appearance". from there you change the scheme to aero. :)
