New to VR (Oculus) — What Racing Sim?

Assetto Corsa brilliant out of the box forcefeedback, drives brilliantly, Ferrari included...a bit fiddly to setup in VR in my experience but well worth the effort.
Project Cars needs tweaking to get the best out of it in terms of force feedback. Plenty of wheel settings and the Jack spade tweaker files that you just drop in the game file under my documents soon sort that out, easily the best VR implementation as it's just click play and go, looks fantastic...
Dirt Rally for, well Rally...less well optimised for vr and incredibly difficult to master but screaming through the trees at 100mph in VR will moisten your underwear if nothing else...

IRacing works well but if you get hooked be prepared to spend big money...
RF2 drives brilliantly but VR implementation is very poor...
Live for Speed old and fairly cheap but drives nicely, has limited content but VR is well implemented
Euro truck Sim 2 or American Truck Sim just for ***** n giggles after a few beers (gets boring quickly though)

Race room is also one I'd try, the sounds in this game are brilliant.

I'd start with assetto corsa as out of the box it's one of the better sims to get into, plenty to do, enough cars without having to start buying extra DLC, lots of different types of servers running if you want to play online. I've recently doing a lot of touge as it's just different from the normal Nurburgring track day.

All i can say, if you haven't experienced it already is prepare for the VOM feeling until you get used to it.

I was playing American Truck Sim fine for an hour, then happened to glance out the side window and that was it. Felt like puking big time!! lol

All above games are great suggestions, but also consider Elite Dangerous, it is epic in VR.

I know its not a race sim :)

I borrow the Vive from work and have PCars and Assetto. I love Assetto, and PCars is fun. The single seaters are the best for me.

Couple of different ideas. Richard Burns rally has it shoe horned in, City Car Driving, if your looking for the more sedate.

Assetto is my king, so many cars, so many tracks, community is great, an online race is always there. But racing sims are highly subjective.

Need some help guys.

Just got the rift. How do I get games to load up in VR Mode - Assetto Corsa, Race Room etc?

In AC, set the render mode to Oculus. The main menu and loading screen will show on your monitor, but once loaded, the game will display on your Rift when you get on track.

To make things slightly easier, I'd recommend grabbing Content manager. Apart from having a ton of customisation features, it'll let you set up profiles for monitor and VR, as well as let you set supersampling etc.
You might have to pay to unlock the full version, but it's literally a couple of quid.

There is a free version of Project Cars as well, search for Project Cars Pagani Edition. Works well with VR.

I've tried them all personally (albeit briefly) and settled on Assetto Corsa. VR implementation is top notch, well optimised (90fps maxed out on my rig) and, above all, driving physics are supreme. Plus, unlike Race Room, Project cars etc, AC has tons and tons of street cars which I much prefer over racing contraptions.

The only downer with AC is that the main menu of the game is displayed on your monitor only, so you have to look through the nose cut out in oculus or invest in Virtual Desktop app. But this downside has an upside too as I can easily watch replays on the monitor, just by taking the headset off and switching AC rendering mode to single screen - without restarting the sim.

Assetto corsa is great in vr, Real easy to setup, go to the options and turn on vr in place of single screen
