Hi all,
Just want to get feedback if my setup is running good or bad (new to watercooling).

I have a ryzen 1700x cpu running at 3.8ghz @ max 1.4v.
My idle temp is 39 celcius.
Stress test highest is 71 celcius.

What are everyones thoughts? Is this good or bad or just normal? I forgot to take note of the temps before adding watercooling hence why im in the dark.

Cheers everyone!!

3.8 @ 1.4 is pretty high. what cooler are you running, what stress test and what ambient temp. the hotter your room the hotter your idle temps will be. also what is the motherboard temp (vrms)? my 1700 3.9 @ 1.325v LLC auto runs a max of 57C using aida 64 ( cryorig A40 ultimate with push/pull fans) what fan curve are you running?

Thanks for your reply.

Im faily new to watercooling so il just put everything i have up and see if that helps lol.

I use a coolstream SE240 rad with 2x corsair 120ML pro fans pushing air into the rad.

Phanteks cpu water block.

The cpu is at 3.8ghz and voltage set to auto in bios and peaks at 1.4 under full load.

Ambient temp is aeound 20c

Mobo temp is 26c

Reservoir and pump is EK xres 140 revo d5

I use heaveyload to stress the cpu and use HWmonitor to get my temp readings.

Fans run at 2300-2400 rpm contant (noise not an issue)

One thing i have noticed is that my cpu temps are the same even if i run fans at say 900rpm or 2400rpm. Especially at idle.

use ryzen master to monitor cpu temps. I'd set voltage manually turn it down to 1.325 and see if it boots with LLC set to auto. mine runs 1.338ish when set to 1.325 for 3.9. high temps will be the high voltage.

Also when i OC in bios. I put vddcr cpu load line up to extreme and vddcr soc loan line up to extreme with vddcr cpu switching freq uptp 350.

Would this cause high temps too?

Bring those voltages down manually. As above set voltage manually to 1.325 and stress test. Keep winding the voltage down until instability appears then nudge back up to the stable voltage.

My 1600 @3.8 runs at about 28c idle and 48(ish) while gaming. Can't remember off hand what it went up to while stress testing.
I'll post up my voltages when I'm back at my pc.

Thanks for the info.

Just a thought but does HWmonitor and AIDA64 account for the 20c offset for ryzen x processors? As thats where im getting my temp readings from.

So ive changed the voltage offset in the bios and down to 1.30v at 3.8ghz and stress test running for 45min now (the one in AIDA64) with max temp of 58c. Idle stays the same but the max is down 13c under stress.
