New to widescreen

Just got a couple of cheapie HP 22"s (1600x1050). How do I make my 1600x1200 wallpaper centre in windows horizontally rather than vertically? I.e. I don't want no wallpaper bars at the side of the image but don't mind missing bits from the top and bottom.

You could crop the image in a paint program to the correct size.

I know but not what I fancy doing with 1000s of wallpapers.

If you use Adobe Fireworks (free 30 day demo on their site) you can run a batch process to do this.
